Capacitive touch panels are mostly used in public area. In order to reduce the microbial infection risk of using a touch panel in public, Danotech investigates and develops medical grade capacitive touch panel which has anti-bacterial coatings to protect all users’ health. The medical grade panels have been certified by SGS with antimicrobial efficacy.
The antibacterial technology of Danotech’s touch panel is to use coatings which contain nanometer sized antimicrobial agents such as silica, zirconia and molecular engineered quaternary ammonium salt. When these antimicrobial agents are in contact with the bacteria, they interact with cell membrane of the bacteria, damaging the cell membrane or interrupting metabolism of the bacteria, and eventually causing the death of the bacteria. It can effectively restrain the growth of the bacteria, fungi, mold, yeast and other single-cell micro-organisms, including some common bacteria, such as Salmonella, E. coli, staphylococcus, streptococcus and other harmful bacteria on the touch panel surface. The antimicrobial function of Danotech medical grade touch panel is long lasting. It is because the antimicrobial mechanism does not consume the antimicrobial agents and the agents are anchored in the coatings.
